ARCADE FIRE RETURNS TO HOVE
|
Arcade Fire to headline Hove 2010
|
The Hove Festival is proud to announce that Arcade Fire will be headlining this summer’s festival at friday 2nd of july. The concert is Arcade Fire’s second appearance at the Tromøya festival – their live performance at the first Hove Festival in 2007 has been described by journalists as the best concert in Norway ever. Festival promoter Toffen Gunnufsen is very happy to get the much lauded band back to Hove:
– Arcade Fire's show the opening year is still something our audience rave about. It really set the festival going, and I'm very happy about their return, he says.
The band’s Hove gig is one of a few select dates in Europe this summer, and it’s also the band’s first Europaean live dates since 2007, a year that saw Arcade Fire play all the major international music festivals including Coachella, Glastonbury, Reading, and Rock en Seine.
Arcade Fire’s two albums, "Funeral" (2004) and "Neon Bible" (2006), have both been Grammy nominated, as well as topping "Best of Decade" polls around the world – with Funeral charting at number 6 on Rolling Stone’s 100 Best Albums of the Decade. According to Merge, the band’s record label, a new Arcade Fire album will be out during 2010.
