British rock trio Muse is confirmed as this year's first headliner. Muse will play on opening day, Tuesday the 29th of June. Muse's latest album, The Resistance, was released in September 2009 and went straight to number 1 in 19 countries.
We have been waiting quite some time to start announcing our biggest acts for 2010. Two weeks ago, news came that the festival was starting one day prior to what had been announced. Our head of booking, Toffen Gunnufsen explains:
– We’ve had some unforeseen opportunities this year, that ended with us moving the festival by one day. The upside to this is that the booking process has been steady going and that we now have accumulated a whole bunch of amazing names to be announced the next days and weeks. The Hove 2010 program is tuning up to be the best ever.
The trio from Devon, UK released their debut album, Showbiz, in 1999, and has since then grown to become one of the planet's biggest bands. Muse has numerous times received Q Awards, NME Awards and Brit Awards, and has sold millions of albums worldwide. These days Muse are on a world tour, and will headline the Coachella Festival in the United States, one of the world's largest and most renowned festivals. |
